An epidemiologic study on the health status and safety among various vehicle drivers


Abstract
To evaluate the general health status and safety through daily life among the self-filled questionnaires.
Study population was 742 vehicle drivers and the researcher intended to investigate the their optimal working condition and health management.
The results obtained were as follows;
1. The highest vehicle group of respondents was in the city bus(26.8%) driver and the highest age group was in the thirties(60.9%).
By working duration, the highest was the group of 5?9 years(43.9%) and by service duration at present work place, the highest group was group of under 2 years(41.8%). And by monthly income, the highest was the group of 300?340 thousand won(37.8%).
2. The eight percent of respondents answered that they have had illness, and the frequency of G?1 disorder complaint was 20.0% and that of back, shoulder and joint pain complaint was 20.9%. It was slightly higher in the local bus driver and in the age group of forties.
3. The forty three percent of respondents answered they felt fatigue which extended to next day, and 19.8% felt anxiety and 38.4% complained a work was hard than before.
4. The frequency of long time driving complaint was 32A% and it was highest in the taxi driver, and 25.8% of respondents complained irregular meal time and it was highest in the city bus driver. And 33.9% complained frequent night and early morning driving and it was the highest in the local bus driver.
5. The frequencyof lack of sleeping compaint was 22.7% and it was the highest in the taxi driver and in the age group of 30?39 years and 44.5% answered they didn¢¥t have
